Is there a usb dongle with 5ghz that's just plug and play?

For ubuntu 21.04 and higher, is there a 5ghz usb dongle I can buy where I simply plug it and use it, without compiling or installing drivers from random github pages or PPAs? I can only find 2.4ghz ones. I tried some 5ghz ones but they all don't work.

Please refer to https://askubuntu.com/help/on-topic where you'll note "*Shopping or Hardware Recommendations*" are off-topic. Ubuntu Forums allows those sort of *opinion* based questions.

Ubuntu 21.04 (along with all flavors) is *End-of-Life* and thus unsupported on this site (https://askubuntu.com/help/on-topic), and many other Ubuntu sites, unless your question is specific to moving to a supported release of Ubuntu. https://fridge.ubuntu.com/2022/01/21/ubuntu-21-04-hirsute-hippo-end-of-life-reached-on-january-20-2022/ https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EOLUpgrades

I can't answer the question... but if you're willing to compile your own kernel (and accept the risk of doing so), then newer hardware, such as 5Ghz dongles _may_ work. Of course, it might not. Side note: why don't you want drivers?

What is a "5ghz dongle"? Do you mean a wifi dongle? Probably you can't find one because you are searching for 5ghz instead of searching for the wifi standard that supports 5GHz.

Possibly helpful: https://github.com/morrownr/USB-WiFi Please refer to the section about dual-band.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
