No sound on GMKTec NucBox using Ubuntu 20.04

There's no sound on GMKTec NucBox, https://gmktec.com/products/nucbox-most-powerful-palm-sized-4k-mini-pc-1, using Ubuntu 20.04. There's only Dummy Output in Settings -> Sound -> Output device.

I created the Ubuntu live USB installation using the official Ubuntu steps here,https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows. I booted my NucBox to that USB device, and there's sound; Ubuntu detected the audio device on my monitor via HDMI.

I installed Ubuntu on my NucBox using the official Ubuntu steps here, https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/install-ubuntu-desktop. I used normal installation, and checked the boxes for downloading updates & drivers (see step 5). I found out that there's no sound. When I go to Settings -> Sounds, there's no output device other than Dummy Output.

I searched askubuntu forums & tutorials for solutions. There's no Timidity-daemon. Rebooting the NucBox; reinstalling alsa-base & pulseaudio; fully updating the OS, including linux-generic, didn't solve the problem. I have yet to apply solutions that require editing config file. As much as possible, I look for solutions that don't require editing configuration files for ease of future maintenance.

I would like to know why there's sound in the Ubuntu Live USB version, but no sound when it's installed on that NucBox.

There's sound when booting it to NucBox's Windows 10.

Thank you for the insights in advance!

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
