Ubuntu update error: The following packages have unmet dependencies

ng flag

Hit there,

am using Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS

Doing sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade

Returns:

You might want to run 'apt --fix-broken install' to correct these.

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libc6-dev : Depends: libc6 (= 2.31-0ubuntu9.7) but 2.31-0ubuntu9.2 is installed

E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt --fix-broken install' with no packages (or specify a solution).

Running commandsudo apt --fix-broken install

Gives:

dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/libc6_2.31-0ubuntu9.7_arm64.deb (--unpack):
new libc6:arm64 package pre-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1

 Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/libc6_2.31-0ubuntu9.7_arm64.deb

Did tried various method before posting like:

-force overwrite and install -f

-deleting libc6_2.31-0ubuntu9.7_arm.deb and re update/upgrading

Thank you!

I have updated my tags if thats what you meant however, am not able to add libc6 libc6-dev due to lack of reputation. Thank you.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
