pacmd command does not list speakers as output audio device

nl flag

I am on Ubuntu 21.10

My goal is to set my speakers as default audio device, as now it is by default my headset, even when it is not connected. Then, I have to manually navigate to the GUI sound options in Ubuntu, and select the speakers (which do work).

When I use the following command: pacmd list-sources It outputs that ' 3 sources available', which does not include my speakers.

Then I can select a sound output device that is listed, e.g.: pacmd set-default-sink "alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1f.3.hdmi-stereo

However, because the speakers are not listed, I cannot set them as a default output device either.

Does anyone know why my speakers are not listed after running the pacmd list-sources command?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
