Hmmm.. Can you be more specific about what you are trying to do, and what problem you are encountering? Also, how have you configured your speakers so far? If you have 2.1 speakers connected via the 3.5mm "headphone" jack, then your set up does not actually have a dedicated subwoofer channel. The subwoofer in this case is derived from L&R by the speakers themselves, usually with a simple frequency crossover. This would not be anything that can be controlled by Ubuntu. Can you clarify what you want and confirm that this is not simply a misunderstanding of the capabilities of your speakers?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
