Server being used for file sharing and Plex. Now mopping up after failed/partially successful attempts to install nVidia/CUDA by unknown means. No nVidia hardware yet installed. Results of login, apt update, and apt upgrade below:

The processor microcode seems to be up-to-date.

No services need to be restarted.

No containers need to be restarted.

No user sessions are running outdated binaries.

No VM guests are running outdated hypervisor (qemu) binaries on this
host.

Once problem is resolved, plan is to install nVidia hardware and proper software required for GPU transcoding in Plex. For now the plan is to simply return to the previously clean server build.

Run the same script with `--uninstall` parameter.

You can not install drivers for some hardware you night have in the future. If this is a recent install of Ubuntu you might consider a fresh install.

I do not have reference to any scripts used. I need to identify and remove/uninstall. Re-install/configure is not desirable!

Happy to add anything anyone feels they need to help answer the question. C&P'd with mouse from PuTTY, pasted into notepad first. Will be more careful in future. Thanks for the tip on backticks and code spans.

The driver needs to be removed from `dkms`. See: https://askubuntu.com/a/1199795/231142 and change to the driver name you see. You will need to run `dkms status` to show the installed driver.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
