Dedicated GPU remains on after PRIME switch to intel GPU, drains battery

US flag

I've just recently installed Ubuntu on my MSI GS65. I've run into an issue where my dedicated GPU remains on despite me switching to integrated graphics using sudo prime intel. After running this command and restarting my PC, when I check NVIDIA X Server settings, it does say that I'm on Intel (power saving mode). However, the amber GPU indication light remains on, and my battery drains very quickly.

Being pretty new to Linux, I'm not really sure where to go from here. I don't want to permanently disable my GPU. I've looked around other posts and forums with no luck.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
