Ubuntu 22.04.1, after system update, input devices don't work

fi flag

[Solved: see edit 2]

After I did a system update, the system boots to the lightdm login, but the mouse and keyboard don't work.

I am able to log in remotely over the network from my laptop, but I'm not sure what to look for.

I can also boot to recovery mode and I have Ubuntu on a USB stick I could boot from too.

Edit 1: I have changed to text boot, and can login into the text console fine.

I may have messed up something between Wayland and Xorg. At some point in the past I'd switched back to Xorg. But right now it appears that xinit isn't on my system so I must be using Wayland. After installing xinit, I try running startx, but X doesn't start.

Edit 2: I believe I have solved it by doing "apt-get dist-upgrade" and that seems to have sorted out the funky state my system was in.

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
