Issues with my Ubuntu VM, Not able to click logos and seeing half of the screen. Only able to move using keyboard

I've been using an Ubuntu virtual machine for a while now and it's pretty much my work pc for many things, I recently updated the Ubuntu version I had and I've had the same recurring issue since then. Pretty much since I turn on the VM, making it pretty much unusable. The log-in window seems fine but once I log in is just messed up. It only shows about 1/4 of my background and can't click on anything except for the logos on the favorites' tab. Other than that I can open the terminal or anything on my favorites' tab but only able to see pretty much a portion of it, still only being able to use my keyboard. This is how my screen looks if anyone has any solution I would extremely appreciate it! I have many files I care about in this pc. Thank you! enter image description here

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
