Using Samsung fingerprint reader

mm flag

Using Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.

Wanting to get my fingerprint reader working, but it does not show up in settings to do so.

lsusb shows this:

Bus 003 Device 003: ID 04e8:730b Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd Fingerprint Sensor Device - 730B

is it not supported yet? Is there a way to get it working?

There is currently [no Linux distribution that supports this specific fingerprint reader](https://linux-hardware.org/?id=usb:04e8-730a). There are a couple of people who are trying to add it to `libfprint`, but it may be a while before support is available. Unfortunately, Samsung does not share any documentation about these devices, meaning the driver must be 100% reverse engineered

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
