VMware Grub prompt

jp flag

Strange issue here... Running Ubuntu 22.04 server, and everything has been fine for the past year, but today when I rebooted I ended up with this:

VMware ESXi 6.5 console

I can't type anything, and I tried to recover a backup from last month, but still - same thing. I've also tried changing from BIOS to EFI in the VMware settings for the VM, but no avail. Other than that I've tried to boot from a live CD, but even that won't work.

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I thought it's worth a shot.

Thank you in advance!

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
