Are the files with username and numbers after it archive log files in var/mail?

my flag

I have the normal files with just name but after that I have 2-3 more files with numbers after it. For example I have root and then root201303. This is for pretty much all users. Are those just some archived log files I don't need? Would it be ok to just remove them/back them up to an other device if I'm not planning on using the logs later on?

What mail server software do you use? I've never seen such files with Postfix + dovecot.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
