The file E:/casper/filesystem.squashfs already exists. Press 'Yes to All' to overwrite it

I get this whenever I create a new bootable USB memory stick from ubuntustudio-22.04.1-dvd-amd64.iso via unetbootin-windows-702.exe running under Windows 10. Error message generated by unetbootin-windows-702.exe running under Windows

I have tried both kinds of USB memory stick: SD Card via a SD card reader from Sandisk connected to my PC's USB-C port, or a latest version Samsung FIT USB memory stick. Both have been reformatted to FAT32 and the partition size is purposely set to be the max that FAT32 handles and not more.

The following console log shows me running checksum on the ISO via Ubuntu on Windows where /mnt/c is my C: drive on Windows. Everything look fine there, and other files are correctly copied as well. I have tried answering both Yes or Yes to All and the effect is the same.

The effect is I get this error when booting and the boot stops:

MSFT0101:00: ACPI region does not cover the entire command/response buffer. [mem 0x9d2ae000-0x9d2aefff flags 0x200] vs 0x9d2ae000 4000

MSFT0101:00: can't request region for resource [mem 0x9d2ae000-0x9d2aefff]

This "ACPI region does not cover ..." error has been reported for quite some years, and others have said it's due to a BIOS coding bug. But according to HP my notebook computer does have the latest BIOS.

Please note that the "filesystem.squashfs already exists" error noted in the title of this post may not be related at all to this boot error.

I have not tried the same USB memory stick on another computer yet. Maybe I ought to do that next.

The same machine and the same Samsung FIT USB memory stick works fine using the desktop build from https://clearlinux.org/. So I am going to go hang out there for the time being. These work straight up with no fiddling: hardwired Ethernet via USB-C, WiFi, Logitech BOLT dongle, external monitor via HDMI, and it runs on an AMD processor.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
