Any way of creating a dummy disk for smartd testing?

lr flag

I recently installed a smartd & msmtp on my server to use it as a hard drive monitor. I tested with the smartd -M function and it sends the mails correctly.

Supposedly will track and send me an email if temps go too crazy or a bad sector is detected, but wanna test if it really works.

So I was guessing if there is some way to create a dummy disk with smart capabilities and make him report errors so I can check if smartd detects it and sends the proper email?

I tried to search Google, but for the moment that was unsuccessful.

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
