Ben

I have Kubuntu 22.04 on my internal SSD. I wish to format the 1.8TiB spinning HDD in order to use it as storage. I've tried using the partition manager but I end up with a partition that I cannot write to.

I get the message "Access denied. Cannot write to ..."

Welcome to AskUbuntu! This is probably a permissions issue. Have you confirmed that the disk (or a directory on that disk) is owned by your user account?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
