Disable overview on startup not working when booting without display connected

ga flag

We configured an intel nuc 10 with Ubuntu 22.04.1, X11 mode (disabled Wayland), autologin active, autostart application Firefox on specific url.

This works fine when a "normal boot" is done: Firefox starts successfully in full screen, with nothing else visible. But when no display is connected on boot, or display is powered off on boot, and after booting, the display is re-connected and powered on, the Gnome activities overview is active instead of Firefox. Firefox's window is shown in the list of applications, although I don't want to see this overview but only Firefox in full screen.

The setting org.gnome.shell.extensions.dash-to-dock disable-overview-on-startup is true (default), but apparently this setting is not honored when no display is attached, or the overview comes active when a display is attached after booting.

I also set these, to no avail:

gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.dash-to-dock dock-fixed false
gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.dash-to-dock intellihide false
I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
