Ubuntu 22.04 Input devices do not work on from boot

in flag

All of a sudden this morning it appears none of my input devices are recognized on my machine when I boot into Ubuntu - Mouse, Trackpad, Keyboard, External Monitor - nothing works. I could not find any material on how ubuntu manages input devices, from drivers or anything. Everything was working well up until last night I suppose. I did upgrade some packages with sudo apt upgrade yesterday but I cannot recall what they were.

Here's some stats:

OS: Ubuntu 22.04
Kernels tried: 15.5.53 & 15.5.73? (forget exact version)
Model: MSI Raider GE76 12UE
Dual boot windows 11/Ubuntu

I don't think it's a total hardware failure - I can still log into Windows and everything works perfectly.

I know the computer isn't frozen because it reacts to the power cord being unplugged and plugged in. I have tried only one other kernel since kernel's can be a crapshoot and open up the door to other problems - usually GPU related.

Can anyone provide some insight?

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
