Ubuntu hangs on splash screen

pw flag

I wanted to update drivers nvidia (for 610M) I had driver version 390.154, I downloaded driver version 390.157. The driver could not be installed in the terminal, so I switched to console mode (without a shell interface) using sudo systemctl enable multi-user.target

sudo systemctl set-default multi-user.target

after i run the file with this command

sudo ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-390.157.run

after I installed build-essential because the installer required it There was a message that the driver was successfully installed, but after restarting the computer it hangs on the splash screen, or if it goes into sleep mode, just a black screen

How can I restore the system? Please, help.

Hello @Nmath, I was able to login by removing the nvidia drivers. Now I don't have drivers and some applications won't open without them. Please tell me how to install drivers from the repository. I do it like this: `ubuntu-drivers devices`, get a list of available drivers, `sudo apt-get install nvidia-driver-390`. But after a reboot, the same problem occurs.
I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
