No display after installing nvidia drivers

cn flag

I'm running ubuntu 22.04 with an RTX 3070ti card.

I was having trouble with the drivers supplied by ubuntu, so I tried to switch to the nvidia proprietary drivers.

I made this switch using the ubuntu Software & Updates gui.

After a reboot I am presented with a login screen. On of my two monitors doesn't display nything.

A few seconds after I login, my remaining screen goes black.

My keyboard and mouse lights are still active, so I know that somehting is happening.

CTRL+ALT+[n] doesn't bring up a terminal or another workspace.

How do I get back into my computer?

What do you mean by "no display"? Do you mean the screen is blank?
I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
