Why does my Ubuntu terminal not load in Windows Terminal on new machine until non-terminating error message displays?

I am setting up Ubuntu on my new Windows 11 machine. When I run Ubuntu it opens in Windows Terminal (which didn't happen on my old laptop with Windows 10). The Ubuntu tab is blank for a while, then displays this:

Error messages

If I Ctrl+C at any point, things work fine, but I don't want to have to do so whenever starting Ubuntu.

Welcome to Ask Ubuntu! Which Ubuntu release are you using in WSL? `wsl -l -v` and `cat /etc/os-release` can help determine that. What happens if you open `wsl ~ -e bash --noprofile --norc`? Does that open without the error? Thanks!

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
