How do I enable WIFI in Ubuntu 20.04 within a Virtual Machine?

va flag

I have a Virtual Machine Installed on Windows 11 with Ubuntu installed on it, but it has no WiFi connection enabled(does not show any wireless network). I bought a wireless adapter and installed it on my laptop. When I start the Virtual Machine it shows that it is connected through USB but it only shows that the connection is Ethernet. I have also set up the adapter1 to NAT and disabled the virtual box host only adapter (I set up adapter2 to bridgedadapter with the wireless adapter). Moreover when i set up the connection through the wireless adapter it fails to connect. I tried without the adapter as well. Any suggestions ?

VMs don't run with the real hardware, they run with virtualized hardware. Typically the internet/network connection is always shown as Ethernet regardless of what it really is in the host OS. You may try using an USB adapter with passtrough to the VM but keep in mind you can't use it in the host at the same time.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
