Ubuntu 20.04 and 22.04 won't first start after fresh installation

es flag

I've installed ubuntu 22.04 from my usb stick on 2 computers. Now after fresh install Ubuntu 22.04 on 2 other different computers it won't initial start (after it writes "remove the installation drive"). It starts like normal, but then it only shows cursor in the top left corner and then nothing happens.

2 different computers, fresh install on SSD with full formatting. intel i7 7th gen, nvidia rtx 3090 + 1080 in one PC nvidia rtx 4090 in the other

Then I installed ubuntu 20.04 with identical result (black screen and blinking cursor). So the problem probably not exactly with Linux, but with some BIOS, SSD or installation settings.

The problem is likely absence of Nvidia drivers. They would have been installed automatically if you selected that option during Ubuntu installation. And, of course, unless dual-booting with Windows 11, you should disable Secure Boot in UEFI.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
