Built in mic on headset not detected

pt flag

I have a HyperX Cloud Alpha headset with a built-in microphone. It is not detected in pavucontrol. Also, if I plug it into the 3.5mm microphone jack, it makes strange sounds when I speak into it. I could try using a splitter for the headset, but I am not sure if it will solve the strange sounds. If anyone knows a solution to this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. I have tried nearly every guide out there, but nothing has fixed it. My friends have also tried to help me, but we have had no success. I had this issue on Pop!_OS and switched to Ubuntu in the hope of fixing it, but I haven't made any progress. I have even considered switching back to Windows.

It's best to include in the question exactly what you've tried, even if it is a summarized list. Folks who might have a proposal for you might not want to waste your time (and theirs) based on the fact that you've already, *"tried nearly every guide out there"*. ;-)

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
