Prevent the connection from failing altogether in case when VPN fails?

cx flag

I've set up a VPN and I connect to it automatically when wired or wireless. I've launched the GUI via nm-connection-editor in the command line, and there I choose a connection Settings and check or uncheck the General->Automatically connect to VPN. All works OK.

Problem happens when the VPN for some reason does not work. In that case both the wired and wireless connections fail, the machine constantly tries to reconnect, and constantly fails - there is no network connection at all.

I workaround this by turning off the Automatically connect to VPN. In that case machine normaly connects to network, albeit not in VPN.

How would I prevent the connection from failing altogether in case of a VPN fail?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
