When disconnecting bluetooth headphones, Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS is switching to the wrong speaker output

hn flag

When I first installed Ubuntu last week, it was trying to output sound to my USB mic by default. After a few minutes of research, I found a startup command to select the proper speakers (pactl set-default-sink alsa_output.pci-0000_09_00.4.analog-stereo). This worked like a charm, but now I'm facing a new issue.

I regularly switch between bluetooth earbuds and my normal speakers. The earbuds connect without a problem, but when I disconnect them, the sound output switches back to my USB mic instead of the speakers. It's not a huge deal to go into settings and choose the right output, but it would be nice if there was a way to fix this.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
