No connection despite being properly connected (not solved by changing resolv.conf)

gh flag

I was trying to install my new earphones, and mid download internet stopped working. I had come across this issue where pinging google.com would lead to « temporary failure in name resolution » My previous fix was to add the proper DNS in wi-fi settings which did the trick, but this time the DNS was already set up properly.

As you can expect, modifying resolv.conf to include « nameserver 8.8.8.8 » or « nameserver 8.8.4.4 » or 1.1.1.1 did nothing to help.

My firewall is off. I also deleted my VPN in case it was the one causing problems (I use protonVPN if it matters).

I tried every solution I could on the internet, I thank you in advance

After a couple of hours, I found a temporary fixed online. Typing sudo dhclient wlp2s0 fixed it. Note that the last part is the last bit of my MAC adress that’s in parantheses, yours might differ. I hope has a more permanent solution for this

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
