files moving by themself

ir flag

I have Ubuntu (20.04 LTS installed with latest security updates)

The device had a newly harddrive installed which I formatted first and then installed Ubuntu on.

Files on my Desktop screen keep shifting position. I turn on the device and the files will be at a certain position then after 1 hour or so of coding I would go back to the Desktop screen and the files have changed position. Is this normal? Could it be a harddrive issue? Or memory issue? I have monitored the device outgoing traffic for 1 day and there was nothing suspicious, having that said I decided to switch the internet off in that device.

Note: Those files are owned by device regular user not root if that makes any difference. Also the device had another OS installed previously using a different harddrive without any issue.

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
