Ubuntu says sudo password is incorrect for user, however password is correct

cn flag

User I setup used to be able to complete sudo commands, IE

sudo apt-get update

It prompts me for my sudo password, which I enter, however recently it said it's incorrect.

I've now logged in as root, reset the user password (sans special characters), I can verify the user password works, however it still is won't accept my sudo password.

I've added the user multiple times to the sudo group via

usermod -aG sudo dan

And I'm still unable to issue sudo command via the user account

Welcome to AskUbuntu. Can you paste the output of `cat /etc/sudoers`?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
