Unable to turn off "Online Mode" for my docker minecraft server

sl flag

(I am trying to host a Minecraft server in a docker container on a dedicated server (Ubuntu 20.04). I am using the itzg/minecraft-server image with docker-compose to create my container.)

It says in the github that the following code will disable this "online mode":

docker run -d -e ONLINE_MODE=FALSE ...

However, after inputting this command into my Ubuntu terminal it responded with the following:

docker: invalid reference format. See 'docker run --help'.

Been at it for 2 hours trying to figure this out... Help would be appreciated :)

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
