change/update ecryptfs password using passphrase after resetting account password

cn flag

after I couldn't log in into my old ubuntu instance I've reset the password via instructions in https://askubuntu.com/a/24024/639921

now, after I try to log in it just loops me back to the login screen I think it may be due to the \home being encrypted, because after going to the terminal I'm able to log in correctly, but can't access my files, I see just the Access-Your-Private-Data.desktop and README files

ecryptfs-mount-private asks for a login password, which I lost/reset

I've got a potential ecryptfs passphrase saved, but I'm not sure on how to handle this situation, can I please get some suggestions?

for example: how to update the ecryptfs password using the passphrase?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
