can ping IP but not hostname

gi flag

I'm working on WSL2 on Windows 10. I am not able to update, upgrade or whatever packages I want to install.

  1. I tried modifying my "resolv.conf" file as:

    nameserver 8.8.8.8

On other IP, it's not working.

  1. I disabled my Firewall from my Symantec antivirus.
  2. Inside the wsl shell, I edit /etc/wsl.conf file as root and insert these 2 lines : [boot] systemd=true

I can now ping DNS but still got theses errors when trying to install a package:

W: Failed to fetch security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/jammy-security/InRelease Cannot initiate the connection to security.ubuntu.com:80 (2620:2d:4000:1::19)
  1. I tried changed the Ubuntu Server switching between the main to the Us one.

It works on a Virtual Machine launched with VMware just not with WSL2.

Any idea how to fix it? Looking forward to hearing from you!

Welcome to Ask Ubuntu! I'm assuming the title should read "*Can* ping IP but not hostname"?
I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
