PC with 2 LAN ports as LAN repeater?

ph flag

I have a Mini PC with two LAN ports running Ubuntu 22.10. The machine is connected to the internet via LAN. Now I want to use the PC as some kind of LAN repeater to be able to use the second LAN port not as input but output.

I tried doing this using Advanced Network Configuration. First I would add a Bridge in the "Network Settings" tab, then add the two LAN devices, save and restart Network Manager. That didn't work. Adding manual IPv4 and Subnet mask adresses like ChatGPT suggested didn't work either.

Can anyone help? Is there maybe a pretty GUI tool for what I wanna do?

Kind Regards

Assuming you're using Ubuntu Desktop, this is generally done by clicking the network icon on the top right, selecting: Edit Connections ⇢ Wired connection 1 ⇢ Edit ⇢ IPv4 Settings. From here, you can set "Method" to "Shared to other computers"

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
