Do packages for non supported Ubuntu versions get removed from apt repo?

za flag

I am recovering an old machine with Ubuntu 14.04 installed, which isn't supported anymore and likes to tell me about it Your Ubuntu release is not supported anymore. .

The system is over 10 years old but actually runs fine. I wanted to install and configure some package for it (darkice) , but ran into some trouble when trying to install via apt. The specific packages I needed when simply not in the archive [404]. Version above and bellow were there. This was true for more than one package [specifically darkice, alsa-lib, libasound2, ...].

I thought to run a cool apt upgrade, but started getting 404s on everything.

Is this because the versions isn't supported anymore? Is there another place to go look for these pkgs?

Thank you

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
