Nvidia drivers with cuda-toolkit version mismatch

co flag

I'm trying to install both nvidia drivers and cuda. I do have this options:

ubuntu-drivers devices
== /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:10.0 ==
modalias : pci:v000010DEd00001C31sv0000103Csd0000131Bbc03sc00i00
vendor : NVIDIA Corporation
model : GP106GL [Quadro P2200]
driver : nvidia-driver-515-server - distro non-free
driver : nvidia-driver-470-server - distro non-free
driver : nvidia-driver-450-server - distro non-free
driver : nvidia-driver-470 - distro non-free
driver : nvidia-driver-525 - distro non-free recommended
driver : nvidia-driver-510 - distro non-free
driver : nvidia-driver-525-server - distro non-free
driver : nvidia-driver-418-server - distro non-free
driver : nvidia-driver-515 - distro non-free
driver : xserver-xorg-video-nouveau - distro free builtin

But cuda-toolkit is 11-5, needing packets for driver version really different from the above, and trying to install 525 says the following packets will be removed:

libnvidia-compute-495 libnvidia-compute-510 libnvidia-ml-dev nvidia-cuda-dev nvidia-cuda-toolkit

How to properly match drivers and cuda?

I need them for a kubernetes node made to run GPU loads (plex, boinc, ...).

There are many answers on this site for installing CUDA. There is a hard requirement made by hardware on max CUDA version, but the Nvidia driver/cuda version conflicts result from the package manager, not CUDA itself. Install the latest Nvidia drivers you can, then pick an answer that uses the Nvidia .run script for the install, and avoid the package dependency tangle.
I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
