audio-related malfuction with octave-psychtoolbox-3

cn flag

I was testing an experiment developed in GNU OCTAVE + Psychtoolbox. To abort the experiment, I typed ctrl + alt + Del to Log Out (I didn't have other option). Since then, Psychtoolbox cannot support audio. The problem appeared suddenly, that is, one moment the script was running perfectly (with sound), then I logged out and after logging back in the experiment gets aborted because of an audio-related problem within OCTAVE + Psychtoolbox. I reinstalled twice GNU OCTAVE + Psychtoolbox and still no sound in the scripts. It was not possible to execute even old scripts of mine that were working 100% with sound. Also, if I execute in OCTAVE an audio-related script/command (ex:BasicSoundOutputDemo([0], ['01_ApitchA2_leftSpeaker_Long.wav'], []) ) there in not sound from the speakers, for example from Sportify and it comes back only after exiting OCTAVE. In the attached screenshot you will see the error report from within GNU OCTAVE, enter image description here

Additional notes:

  1. OS: Ubuntu 22.04 jammy, Kernel: x86_64 Linux 5.19.0-35-generic
  2. Psychtoolbox-3 for GNU/Linux X11, under GNU/Octave 64-Bit (Version 3.0.19 - Build date: Feb 24 2023).

Thank you for your time!

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
