How to verify what DC's are advertising to the server

tw flag

Apologies for the title wording the truth is im not quite sure what my problem is.

Description: Ubuntu 18.04.6 LTS Release: 18.04

We have a production server spun up to host a connector for PCoIP soloution we going through the connector setup it requires credentials for a service account on our Windows server (2012r2) Domain Controller. Once these are entered it fails having failed to lookup DC?? on x.x.x.254:53. When reviewing the DNS on that IP (and all other DNS servers) there is no reference to this DC and we know it has been removed a while ago.

So what i need to know is how can i check what the Ubuntu server is checking for this record, or is there somewhere on the server a can view a cache and the values within it for these DNS queries.

I would like to point out DNS works perfecty in every other aspect i just dont know how its finding this server.

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
