After completing Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS install on a fresh hard drive, no bootable device is found

I have just installed Ubuntu 22.04.2 on a blank hard drive from a live usb using an ISO from here which was created using Rufus. The installation (seemed) to be a success, going through all the way and finishing with the "remove installation media and reboot" message at the end of the process. Now however when I try to boot the hard drive it says there is no boot media on it. I've tried going back into the live USB and using gpart to look at the drive and there is an EFI partition created, but I'm still new to linux and don't know what else to check for after that. There is no windows install on this drive or anywhere in this PC either, Ubuntu is the only thing on it.

Is UEFI set to boot in UEFI boot mode, not CSM/Legacy/BIOS mode? What brand/model system. Some need extra settings like Acer needs "trust" in UEFI settings on boot entry, HP needs user to change boot order. Some HP only boot "Windows Boot Manager" as UEFI entry and new entry to boot grub but with Windows description is required.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
