Cannot ping windows by hostname when it has more than 1 IP in nmblookup

bj flag

I'm starting with ubuntu and I am working on this issue the whole day. I have done 2 or 3 times clean install of ubuntu server 22.04 and try to ping my windows hostnames on my local network.

Using nmblookup I can see info of all machines, but I am only able to ping machines which show me only IP on nmblookup, ex:

nmblookup clientwin11: result: 192.168.0.83 clientewin11<00> This machine I can ping with: ping clientwin11.local

nmblookup server: result: 192.168.0.27 servidor<00> 169.254.254.37 servidor<00> This machine I cannot ping, it takes a while and show me: ping: server.local: Name or service not known

Why is that and how can I fix it? I have another server with fedora linux and it's able to ping both (without .local prefix)

Ps. I am only able ping clientwin11 after install avahi-daemon

I find it's a known bug on debian/ubuntu and as long I could find there's no solution yet: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=825380
I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
