Matlab R2022b Ubuntu 22.04 .desktop File Not Showing Up

am flag

I just upgraded from Ubuntu 20.04 to 22.04 and installed the latest version of Matlab (R2022b). I want to have a shortcut for Matlab in the Launcher. I created a .desktop file in /usr/share/applications but the icon won't show up in the Launcher.

It used to work perfectly fine with Ubuntu 20.04 and Matlab R2022a. What I am getting wrong? Could it be a problem with the latest version of Matlab?

I ran the following command in the terminal

sudo nano /usr/share/applications/matlab.desktop

and copy-pasted into the file

[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Exec=/usr/local/MATLAB/R2022b/bin/matlab -useStartupFolderPref
Icon=/usr/local/MATLAB/R2022b/bin/glnxa64/cef_resources/matlab_icon.png
Name=MATLAB
Categories=Development;Math;Science
StartupNotify=true # to use just one icon

Then I saved the file and refreshed Nautilus.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
