Menus disappear on Thunderbird

cn flag

I am working with the latest version of Ubuntu (23.04 with GNOME 44.1 on X11). I update the system regularly, at least once a week. I use Thunderbird as my e-mail client, now in version 102.11.0. Although I use a few extensions/add-ons, I have not changed anything there in months.

For about a month now, I have noticed that all menus stop working regularly (at least two to three times a day). These are both the drop-down menus as well as all the context menus. I can fix it by restarting Thunderbird, but this is getting annoying.

I had not noticed the same behaviour on any other software.

Has anyone noticed this behaviour? Any clue on how I may go about solving it?

please [edit] your question with the version of TB package - is it installed as snap, deb or flatpak?

Thanks @graham , I will do this as soon as I get a chance. In the meantime, and to test the influence, if any, of the packages, I have turned them off, for now, to see if this has any effect on the behaviour I identified.
I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
