Bluetooth 5.0 in Ubunto

dk flag

I have Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS. I tried to connect a Bluetooth 5.0 dongle; Bluetooth appears in settings but I can’t connect to any Bluetooth devices. I have a dual boot on my desktop so I tried it on Windows 10 and the USB Bluetooth 5.0 worked flawlessly.

I am just wondering Is it possible to get the USB Bluetooth 5.0 to work with Linux? I’ve seen some threads on the Internet and downloaded the "mp_rtl8761b_fw", "rtl8761bu_fw", "rtl8761b_config" drivers but nothing yet. Thank you for your help!

If you're asking about Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, why did you tag the question as being about Ubuntu 14.04 LTS? Why tag 14.04? or how does it relate (*or was that only an mistake?*) You did say 22.04 LTS which being a LTS has kernel stack choices (kernel changes changing kernel modules commonly called *drivers* being the point), but you also didn't specify if you're asking about 22.04 Desktop or 22.04 Server which have different defaults. Being specific can be helpful.
I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
