I have USB printer on thin client, which I need to include in RDP stream to become available for target VM machine. From one Linux client machine it all worked OK(computer died, so I had to replace it), Now from new machine (DELL WYSE) no matter I tried (include devices is checked : USB, serials, etc.) nothing works ....USB printer is still not visible on the server machine. I have to say 1. USB printer tends to create COM port, so it is not standard "Plug&Play" or whatever device,so I can not really see that it does connect or no. ,2.nd printer is plug and Play...
I feel like there are 2 options :
- printer was never passed through RDP to the target Server(Win Server 2012), thus not recognized (some special devices are not normally passed through)
- the printer was passed through RDP to Target Server, but as there is no "alert" I can not check it (just Device manager but that shows nothing).
- List item
Is there any way how to check "what devices are visible/available right in the RDP stream?
Camera, Microphone, USB disks are passed through RDP OK, just 2 different USB printers no...I tried different clients (WIN7 workstation) to the Server WIN Server 2012...still the same (USB disks OK, printers NO...) I have allowed everything in GPO regarding RDP & allowing Devices,+ I tried to run RDP connection out of Domain (local users)...no change, still printers are not available on target server.
Any tool to check the RDP stream for passed "devices"?
thanks alot.
