How to import a p12 certificate and export a cer file in WS19?

bm flag

I have to setup a new server on windows server 2019. My old server was windows server 2008.

I havew no idea what certificates do or what I am doing here, I am just following a how-to someone wrote me years ago and it worked until the new OS version.

In this how to, there are 2 commands to import and grand access:

winhttpcertcfg -i cert.p12 -c LOCAL_MACHINE\My -a MYUSER -p CERTPW

and

winhttpcertcfg -g -a APPPOOLNAME -c LOCAL_MACHINE\My -s CERTNAME

After that, I should right click on the certificate in my mmc and can export it.

As I said it worked fine until the OS change.

As I found out, there is no winhttpcertcfg tool any more:

Importing a certificate and granting permissions on Windows Server 2012 R2

Sadly all the answers in this or related questions doesn't help me, because I dont have the knowledge to understand them.

Can someone provide me a small 3-step how to that will replace my old 3-step howto?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
