Connecting Huawei P10 Lite to Citrix and IGEL environment

ng flag

this is my first post and I hope some of you can help me with my problem. I am an admin in medium sized building company, which is using Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop in combination with IGEL OS to connect to the VMs. Most people in the office are using the Huawei P10 Lite (I know it is pretty old :D) as a company phone.

The XenDesktop VMs are based on one master VM. The same counts for the XenApp VMs.

The people are making a lot of photos on the construction side. When they get back, they want to load them through a USB cable onto the computer. To make the connection happen, we are allowing through the IGEL UMS the exact phone to connect and are using also the Huawei HiSuite. In Citrix and IGEL UMS is the USB redirection allowed.

On the phones is currently EMUI 8.0.395 as operating system installed. It ran pretty smooth (to my surprise), but in the last week more and more people came complaining that it is not possible anymore to transfer files from the phone to the PC/VM.

So I checked and found out:

  • Drivers on the computer are up to date
  • Latest windows updates are installed
  • No changes to IGEL UMS were made
  • User connected the phone in the right way (after connecting, checking which information to transfer)

A summary of our environment:

  • Phones: EMUI 8.0.395
  • Huawei HiSuite: 11.0.0.550_OVE
  • IGEL OS: 11.05.133.01 (seems to be the latest at 16th september 2021)
  • Citrix VDA: 1912.0.1000.24525
  • The VMs are getting managed by VMWare vSphere 6.7.0.20000

I know that was just a little bit ;D of text. What could have caused the recent problem and what could be the solution to solve my problem?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
