Changing AD creds from Mac or Linux

sa flag

I work for a firm that uses primarily AD for most of their authentication. This includes a VPN and Email. The firm provides Windows laptops for employees, I am one of their Linux developers and opted out of getting a Windows laptop. I use a Mac and Develop on Linux. The Linux severs I touch I have full access to them are in the same network as the AD servers, but are not tied into AD. They use a different something else for authentication/ authorization. The problem I am running into now is that every 90 days I dont have a way to reset my password. Help desk says they wont support me since they provide a Windows laptop. I think it would be a waste to get a laptop for just me changing the password every 90 days, I dont use it for anything else. Does Mac or Linux have any application that would allow me to change my windows AD creds without being part of the domain?

If you can run Powershell on your Mac you can try with the Active Directory PowerShell Module command Set-AdAccountPassword If you have OWA you should be able to change the password there (but could be deactivated by admins)

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
