UFW not working properly when enabled and allowing port

in flag

So I have a VPN setup. I have a client in the VPN with a private IP address. I setup portforwarding from VPN server to the private IP on a port, let's say 8989 for example. Everything works great, I can access the private IP from the web by doing: public.ip.of.server:8989 I even get the login on http page.

The problem is, as soon as I enable UFW, and use ufw allow 8989/tcp, check that the rule is listed, the public.ip.of.server:8989 becomes unreachable.

Any idea on why that happens or how I can debug it ? I can confirm enabling UFW is the issue because as soon as I disable it works again.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
