Storage Spaces - Disk not available

hu flag

I purchased two identical new hard drives and attached them with a JBOD enclosure to a HPE server. Curious and frustrating situation:

Both disks available:

  • get-disk shows both disks
  • diskpart shows both, too
  • system information also shows both disks
  • Server Manager under volumes - disks shows both disks

Just one disk available

  • Get-PhysikalDisk
  • Server Manager - Volumes - Storage Spaces

Checked both disks with the Western Digital diagnostics - no error found. Switched the enclosure ports of course - no difference.

Does anyone have a clue, why I'm not seeing the second disk?

The disks have both the same FriendlyName and I also tried to create unique output via Get-PhysicalDisk | select FriendlyName, SerialNumber, UniqueId |, so that each line has unique values.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
