How do I run an app from the command line during an Azure pipeline that accesses Key Vault?

ar flag

I have a UI automation testing tool that runs from the command line. It uses Azure Key Vault via SecretClient in the source code. This works great for QA people who are running it locally and can log into Azure from Visual Studio. However this tool also needs to run as a step during the build process in an Azure Devops pipeline. Logging in as a Service Principal looks overly complicated as I would need a certificate and Devops doesn't make it easy to manage the certificate. Are there any options within Azure Devops to either make the Service Principal easier or some other alternative I'm not finding?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
