Postfix: Multiple email address to the same user causing duplicate message

in flag

I have setup Postfix on my Ubuntu server to receive and send emails, and then I have created three virtual email addresses via /etc/postfix/virtual like this:

[email protected] mailer
[email protected] mailer
[email protected] mailer

As you can, all this virtual accounts are linked to one user mailer.

Now, I have also setup dovecot so I can access my mail server from my PC directly.

The issue that I am having now is that if someone sends me an email to one of these addresses, the other two addresses also receive that email. This means that all my three addresses linked to the same user receive the same email, which make my email client software download the same email three times.

Is there anyway to fix this without creating different users for each address?

Please [edit] your question to clarify what you mean by "the other two addresses also receive that email". The partial configuration you shared looks like *there only is one* final recipient: `mailer`, which is where mail for any of the 3 mailboxes goes.

it looks like for me that you are not familiar with setting up a maip infrastructure. maybe mailcow would be a better solution for your?

@djdomi You mean imap? I don't know what does maip mean. I am using eM Client on my Windows to receive emails for my domain from my VPS server.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
