How to safely rename rename Hyper-V vhdx & avhdx files?

I created a few VMs and made a few checkpoints, how do I safely & preferably quickly, rename the files on disk?

I can easily rename the labels here: vm's in hyper-v console

Why do you want to rename them? I don't think you can rename them, at least not very safely without removing all the snapshots. If it is just for organizational purposes you could move the VM storage and move the VMs into separate directories.

different strokes for different folks I guess . Why would I want a messy unorganized file system? @Zoredache

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
